My Logo design Process

Every design job is a creative process that involves multiple steps. When designing a logo, this process is much more refined. Below are the steps outlining my logo design process.

1. Understanding

Design Brief:  I have clients fill out a short questionnaire to help me understand their business, values, target audience and design preferences.

2. Research & Inspiration

Competitor Analysis: I research competing brands to identify trends, while aiming for uniqueness.

Industry Trends: I explore design trends in my client’s industry to help me understand what works and what doesn’t.

Inspiration Boards: I create mood boards with images, colors and fonts that align with my client’s vision.

3. Conceptualization

Brainstorming: I generate multiple rough sketches for a quick ideation.

Concept Development: I develop a few promising concepts that resonate with my client’s brand and message.

4. Digital Drafting

Using Design Software: I translate my sketches into digital formats using software like Adobe Illustrator. Typefaces and Imagery: I experiment with fonts, shapes and images. I ensure the logo looks good in various sizes and formats by focusing on simplicity and scalability.

5. Colour Selection

Color Psychology: It is important to understand the psychological impact of different colours. I make sure to use colors that convey the right emotions for every brand.

Versatility: I ensure the logo works well in both colour and grayscale.

6. Typography

Font Selection: I choose fonts, and font pairings, that match the brand personality, while considering readability and scalability.

Customization: I adjust letter and line spacing, size, and sometimes even create custom lettering for a unique look.

7. Feedback

Client Feedback: I present the initial concepts to my client, gather feedback and make changes based on their suggestions.

Refinement: I refine the chosen concept based on my client’s feedback. This may involve several rounds of revisions.

8. Finalization

Color Modes: I ensure the logo is designed in CMYK for print and RGB for digital use.

File Formats: I prepare vector and raster files in various formats (SVG, PDF, PNG, JPG) for different applications.

Guidelines: I create a style guide outlining logo usage, color codes and font information for consistent branding.

9. Delivery & Support

Delivery: I deliver the final logo files to my client along with any other materials specified in the contract.

Support: I offer support and guidance for implementing the logo in various contexts if needed and address any final questions or concerns.
